Course Tour

In keeping with the traditional Scottish golf course design, the first three holes at Saint Andrew’s are among the most straightforward on the course, facilitating orderly play from the first tee. The first hole is a prime example of late 19th century course design. Largely unchanged from the 1897 layout of William Henry Tucker, Sr., this short, unobstructed 334 yard par four presents itself in an unprepossessing manner. But looks can be deceptive, number one…. bearing the name “Reid’s Gate”… is the number 5 handicap hole.
